Liberator progress

Rubbed down what seam lines there were on all parts.
I had to fill some seams with milliput plus some of the detail blocks were half missing on the guns. These were rebuilt from miliput.
Some of the vanes on the nose of the front section were partly missing. These were reconstructed out of plastic card and milliput.
As I was rubbing down one of the guns the rear end completely shattered due to it being so thin. I have rebuilt using plastic card and milliput.
The support arms for the guns were drilled out so I could insert support braces. One of the arms I could not drill into, I discovered that there was a large piece of metal rod inside. This was the only arm with this, odd.
The main body was drilled for the gun supports to be attached.
The supports have been attached to the gun pods with wire inserts, super-glued and milliput used to fill, then rubbed down with wet and dry.
Next up will be to attach the arms and guns to the main body. I just hope it can take the weight.

Favourite Laser Tank

This is my fave Laser Tank. Would love to own a kit of it. This one is produced by Jim Small of Small Art Works in the USA.

New Space 1999 Type 3 Laser Tank

Comet Miniatures are stocking this 9" long resin kit from UNCL priced at £80!
Now if that was the Eagle beaked version I'd snap it up even at that price.

Death Warrior Predator

Check out my other modelling blog where I detail the build of Narin's Death Warrior Predator.

Star Trek Vulcan Shuttle

The re-release of AMT Star Trek Vulan Shuttle has been reduced on Play to just £17.99.
Question is should I buy it?

Masterpiece Models Liberator

Masterpiece Models Liberator is a resin kit, together with brass rod for the antenna. It came in a nice sturdy box with plenty of packing chips for protection.
It comes in 8 resin parts which were cleanly cast, front section, main body,3x pylon arms and 3x gun pods. A sheets of decals is also included plus some basic instructions and a base with support rod.
Kit cast $60.95 plus $17.80 for shipping directly from Masterpiece though Comet did stock it at one point at twice the price I paid and there are/were at least 1 other retailer in the UK that has it listed on their site.

Blakes 7 Liberator

I love the Liberator from Blakes 7, a fantastic design. There are three kits out there that have been available over time, 1st was the Comet Miniatures one, bottom picture, then the Titan Find, top picture, and third the Masterpiece models kit.
At the time, that was probably 2 years ago I wanted a kit of the ship. The Comet one was going for big bucks on Evilbay and is quite small. The Titan one is 14" excluding antenae with clear plastic engine halves to enable lighting and was $130 plus shipping, a bit too big for display perhaps, but when I saw the Masterpiece kit I decided to buy.
This kit is 12" long and cost $69.95 plus shipping.
It is the only one possibly still available to buy now.

About the blog

What this Blog will show are any build up's kit wise new and old that I do and have done.
I have not built anything for nigh on two years, the interest is still there but due to time, work commitments and space I have dropped off building and it's about time I did some cool kits and re-invigorate the modelling bug.
